BNB, originally known as Binance Coin, is a cryptocurrency that powers the Binance ecosystem and plays a crucial role in various decentralized applications (dApps) and blockchain networks.
Initially launched on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-20 token in July 2017, BNB later migrated to the Binance Chain and subsequently to the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), and is now also present on opBNB.

The token's initial supply was 200 million coins. Binance conducts periodic token burns, where a portion of BNB is permanently removed from circulation based on trading volume and network activity. This mechanism is designed to reduce the total supply over time.
