Описание монеты

The Turkmenistani Manat (TMT) is the official currency of Turkmenistan. It is not a cryptocurrency in the traditional sense, as indicated by its presence on the FIAT chain and the absence of a token standard or contract address.

Unlike digital assets operating on blockchain technology, the TMT functions as a fiat currency, managed and issued by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan. Its value is determined by national economic factors and government policies, rather than market forces typical of cryptocurrencies.

The TMT was introduced in 2009, replacing the previous Manat at a rate of 5,000 old Manats to 1 new Manat. This redenomination aimed to simplify the currency and align it with international standards.

As a fiat currency, the TMT is legal tender within Turkmenistan. It is used for all domestic transactions, including the purchase of goods and services, payment of salaries, and settlement of taxes.

The Central Bank of Turkmenistan is responsible for maintaining the stability and integrity of the TMT. This includes managing monetary policy, controlling inflation, and ensuring the sufficient supply of currency in circulation.

The TMT is not designed for decentralized operation or trading on cryptocurrency exchanges. Its usage is primarily confined to the national economy of Turkmenistan.

The currency exists in both physical (banknotes and coins) and digital forms, but these digital forms are managed within the traditional banking system, not on a distributed ledger technology.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has assigned the currency code TMT to the Turkmenistani Manat.

The Turkmenistani Manat has a fixed exchange rate against the US Dollar as set by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, although official and unofficial rates can differ.

Understanding the TMT requires recognizing its status as a national fiat currency. It does not possess characteristics such as blockchain immutability, cryptographic security for transactions, or decentralized governance that define cryptocurrencies.

Its 'chains' entry being 'FIAT' signifies its classification as a fiat currency, distinct from cryptocurrencies that operate on blockchains like Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Solana.

The 'decimals' value of 8 is a technical specification that might be relevant in certain financial systems or internal accounting, but it does not imply blockchain-based tokenomics.

The absence of a 'token_standard' and 'contract_address' further confirms that the TMT is not an issued token on any blockchain network.

In summary, the Turkmenistani Manat (TMT) is the sovereign currency of Turkmenistan, operating within a centralized financial system and not as a decentralized digital asset.
