ADA is the native digital currency of the Cardano blockchain. It is used for peer-to-peer transactions, powering the network's operations, and incentivizing participants in the Ouroboros consensus protocol. ADA holders can also stake their tokens to support the network and earn rewards.

The Cardano blockchain supports the creation and deployment of tokens on its native chain. Additionally, Cardano-based tokens can also exist on other compatible blockchains, such as the BNB Smart Chain, adhering to the BEP-20 token standard.
